Marrowbone & Cleaver was founded by T.M.Frankish who was a butcher and the pub landlord at the time, his dual occupation explains the name that remains to this day.
166 Squadron was re-formed in January 1943, at Kirmington, Lincolnshire, as a bomber squadron. It remained based at Kirmington throughout the remainder of the war, flying Wellingtons and Lancasters and participated in many major raids
After changing hands several times, Kirmington was selected as the best location for a regional airport serving the Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe localities and has become Humberside International Airport.
Boeing 737 G-BGTW Orion, carried out short field training at Humberside airport 13 March 1980. Humberside had a scheduled service to Amsterdam in 1970, then following the formation of Air UK in 1980, the Fokker F-27 expanded its scheduled services to Aberdeen and Jersey.
